Opened in October 2025, it directly connects South Mumbai to the international airport for the first time in the city’s history.

FAQ

Q: What is Mumbai Metro Line 3 (Aqua Line)?
A: Line 3 is Mumbai’s first fully underground metro, fully operational since October 2025. It runs from Cuffe Parade in South Mumbai to Aarey JVLR, passing through CSMT, BKC, and both airport terminals.

Q: Does the Mumbai Metro go to the airport?
A: Yes. Line 3 has dedicated underground stations at CSIA T1 (domestic) and CSIA T2 (international), directly connected to the terminal buildings.

Q: Is Mumbai Metro better than local trains?
A: Metro is less crowded, fully air-conditioned, and easier to navigate. Local trains cover more of the city and are faster for parallel long-distance trips. Most experienced commuters use both.

Q: What are metro timings in Mumbai?
A: Approximately 6:00am to 11:00pm on most lines. Check the MetroConnect3 app or MMRDA website for exact timings on each line.

Q: Can I use the same card for metro and local trains?
A: Yes. The NCMC (National Common Mobility Card) is accepted on all Mumbai metro lines and the suburban railway.
